Can you do Affiliate Marketing without your own website?

A good way to start your own online business is to join an affiliate marketing program because you can start by using another company’s product instead of having to create your own product. In most cases the affiliate merchant will also supply you with the necessary tools to market, advertise and promote their product. Once you have chosen the product you want to market, you are ready to start your own online affiliate marketing business.

Another positive aspect of online affiliate marketing is that you do not necessarily need your own website to promote the product or products you have chosen. The reason for this is because most affiliate merchants will also provide you with your own affiliate website to promote your chosen product.
This all sounds great and a lot of people decide to go this route and do not set up their own website, but the catch is that you will not generate as much traffic as with your own personalized website. The fact is that without traffic your chances of success are drastically reduced and you could struggle to really get your online business off the ground.

An important reason why you need your own website, is so that you can effectively present and pre-sell your affiliate products using your own personality and words on your website, which is much more effective than having a one size fits all affiliate website provided to you by the affiliate merchant. It just makes sense to create your own voice on your own website and promoting the affiliate products using your own creative ability.

Of course, if you decide want to do online affiliate marketing without creating your own website, there are several options open to you. Here are a few suggestions:
You can set up an email marketing campaign and promote your affiliate links directly in the email messages and then direct your prospects directly to your affiliate product sales page for sign up.

You can purchase qualified leads and import them directly into an auto-responder containing pre-written message scripts about the product or products you wish to sell. The final step in this process will be to promote your auto-responder email address.
You can promote your affiliate products in a variety of forums as well as writing articles explaining the benefits of the products you are promoting. You can also promote your products on your own blog, which you can setup free of charge in most cases. You can then create a sign-up form and write a pre-sell article about the affiliate product you are promoting and add this to your blog. The next step will be to participate in forums and send traffic to your pre-sell blog article using the link in your forum signature file.
Another way of promoting your affiliate products is to create an ebook that focuses on a specific theme and provides the reader with useful information on your products or services. Add links to your online affiliate products in the content of your ebook and make sales by giving it away free to your subscribers. Also, your ebook does not have to be a masterpiece or be 300 pages long, just as long as you provide your readers with useful and objective information.
All of the above suggestions work well for many individuals, but in my opinion, having your own website is by far the best and fastest way to be successful in the online affiliate marketing arena.
